Cross-posted from here.
Extraordinary show on a Tuesday night at the Canadian Tire Centre with Mumford & Sons.
They are currently on their Delta World tour which started in November of 2018.
Ottawa was their 26th stop.
Shocking enough, this was my first concert seeing them.
Ever since they blew up about 10 years ago with their debut album Sign No More.
Never got a chance to see and finally 10 years later I got to see them perform.
One of those high energetic and electrifying show that got people singing out loud and dancing.
The band perform a various mix of tracks from their four albums.
Starting off with 42 and Guiding Light from Delta.
I was very happy to hear Little Lion Man, The Cave and I Will Wait. 8/10.
Opening up for them was Cat Power.
Sorry to say this but it was a miss for me.
It was very slow, moody and wasn’t feeling the connection to her music like I was hoping for. 6/10.
Check out the photos.

bluesfest2017-lineup
Everyone is jumping for joy or dismayed on this year’s Ottawa Bluesfest 2017 line-up.
While we didn’t get U2 who is touring in support of the 30th anniversary for The Joshua Tree.
Nor we didn’t get Beyonce, Solange, Justice, Radiohead, The xx, Bon Iver, Kendrick Lamar and many more.

This year we got LCD Soundsystem which I am very excited!
Also on the bill is Tom Petty and The Heartbreaks (Everyone is going to be Freefallin’ and having Mary Jane’s Last Dance) to Muse to P!nk (Maybe Dallas Green will join on stage?) to The Shins and lots more.
Flume and Phantogram are the ones I am excited to check out.

Returning favorites Death from Above 1979, Tegan and Sara will surely get people excited.
While there are some which I will roll my eyes and not reveal which acts I will mention.

I was hoping that Japandroids, Mac DeMarco, Dirty Projectors, Timber Timbre, The Rural Alberta Advantage and Austra was going to perform this year since they have albums out this year.
Or maybe Broken Social Scene who have reunited and playing a few concerts.

There is alot of local acts playing in this year’s festival from Slack Bridges, Mushy Gushy, Fevers and Telecomo.

I’m not going to post the schedule, which you can simply click on to their site.

Who are you very excited to see?
The festival happens from July 6 – 16, 2017.

Patrick Watson with the megaphone during the grand finale

On the last day of Pop Montreal.
The Ukrainian Federation was treated with a special performance of Patrick Watson’s Sacred Sunday.
He hosted a show with bunch of his friends.
Mostly gospel music with a indie rock feel to it.

2008, Amos The Transparent, Basia Bulat, concert, Katie Stelmanis, Music, Ottawa, show

On March 27, 2008, I went to Zaphods to see Basia Bulat.
Second time so far this year that I’ve seen her.
She was absolutely amazing live that night.
Openers were Katie Stelmanis and Amos The Transparent.

Katie was amazing.

Basia was so adorable on the stage.
Can’t believe my friends and I were loud.
My favorite part when her mic didn’t work when she was going to see “Before I Knew”
She sang without it and the audience clapped. It was amazing!!!
And clapped for “I Was A Daughter”.
Basia seemed glad with the audience participation.
And she also said how she loved the Ottawa people being helpful.

After the show, we talked to her and she was soo funny, nice and down to earth.
Took alot of group photos.
Talked about whatever mostly.

Or get her album “Oh My Darling”
