Vancouver musician Mike Bertini released his EP Thing Called Life on January 28, 2020.
It is five tracks filled with indie pop and blues rock with some added syrupy ballad schmaltz.
Something that would be played on mainstream radio or listen to while doing some errands.
If you like heartbreak, relationships and life in general, this something you should listen to.
About the EP:
‘Thing Called Life’ builds its premises on the true narration of what life is about.
This collection of 5 original songs transposes, with its music and lyrics, those stories where each of us can easily find themselves or our experiences.
Joe opens the selection, with its intense classic rock/blues sound, it interprets perfectly its deep topic: it is a song of hope, dedicated to the ones who are less fortunate and have to live on the street.
The scratchy guitar of Find My Way burst into the album music tracks: a mirage, a dream about the perfect paradise, the place where to escape, where to forget about everything and just enjoy the sun.
The acoustic caress through which opens Thing Called Life, that names the entire album, throw us directly into life’s universal matters, melting pleasantly into a rock atmosphere, a perfect mood twist.
World of Lies brings us back to the real life; an elegant ballad that will move your heart through its touching melody and intimate lyrics about friendship, betrayal and trust.
To close the EP, there is the catchy Those Nights, an anthem to the joy of life, a song made to inspire wild nights and parties, as to remember that life is a rollercoaster of emotions as it is this intense EP as well.
